Current, Former Representative of the 18th Congressional District to Debate Environmental Issues in Forum Tonight

Sean Patrick Maloney seeks to hold onto the seat he rested from Nan Hayworth in 2012. The 18th includes Brewster and Southeast.

Facing major concerns like clean energy, the cost of infrastructure upgrades and the need to prepare for a changing climate, Westchester County and the Hudson Valley are on the forefront of many sustainability challenges.

The next Congress member from the 18th District can help address issues like these, along with the protection of open space and cleaning up the Hudson River. But where do the candidates running for this important office stand on these and other environmental issues?

Both candidates – incumbent Sean Patrick Maloney and challenger Nan Hayworth – will be questioned on a wide range of sustainability issues, including transit-oriented development, renewable energy, hydrofracking and much more.

This forum is the first of the campaign season to focus exclusively on sustainability. It is also a great opportunity for civic organizations, environmental groups, voters and all District 18 residents to find out where the candidates stand on issues that matter most.
