Anna Plot Synopsis:
In the near future or an alternate reality, there are memory detectives, people who have the ability to enter other people's electronically-aided memories. They often are used to resolve psychological conflicts, and sometimes to exonerate someone from a crime. John was at one time the top in this field, but he has been recovering from the death of his wifey, and a stroke. To get back into work the head of the small firm he works for offers him what is supposed to be a simple job - getting 16-year-old Anna to start eating again. However, the "simple job" turns into his most challenging.

Anna (2013) is a Spanish American fantasy drama psychological thriller horror movie that is also known as Mindscape (2013). Director Jorge Dorado (The Devil’s Backbone (2001), Bad Education (2004), Talk to Her (2002)) did a great job with this movie. His expertise shows and is recognized. Anna contains suspense, thrills, frightening scenes, nudity, s**ual inferences, mild violence, mild gore, bad language and some disturbing scenes (woman in the bathtub full of blood).
The movie is about recently widowed detective John Washington (Mark Strong - Body of Lies (2008), Sherlock Holmes (2009), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)) who has the ability to see people’s memories. John is used to using his ability to solve cases but had a terrible stroke during one of sessions that left him financially broke and memories of his former self. He is handled a case with a 16-year-old girl name Anna (Taissa Farmiga - Jamesy Boy (2014), American Horror Story (2011), At Middleton (2013)) that is intelligent, troubled and dangerous. He has to figure out if Anna is a sociopath or just traumatized from something that happened in her life.
Anna comes from a wealthy family and has stopped eating. John enters her mind in an effort to find out why certain things are happening. At first John thinks that Anna is being set up as being a sociopath by her stepfather because he wants to take her inheritance. Johns finds out that Anna may not be as innocent as she appears to be, and it becomes challenging for him as the movie progresses. He finds out that Anna is the most conniving and manipulative person amongst all the people he has known in his life. John is having a hard time differentiating what he is in her memory, what is real or not, because of the stroke he had earlier and because of how intelligent Anna is. John is afraid that Anna may be presenting false memories to him.
Anna is a movie that you need to give 100% of your attention to because every little detail matters, and you might get lost trying to figure out the movie if your focus is not there. I still did not fully understand the movie when it ended and plan to watch it a second time when I can pay attention 100% to it. The movie was very interesting, but I did find some plot holes. Almost all movies have plot holes. The acting was awesome, and the storyline was beautiful. I would recommend this movie for all to see because it makes you think about people and what one might perceive to be true or false.
