Laude’s fiancé emotional at wake, continues to seek justice

Marc Sueselbeck turned emotional the moment he saw the remains of Jeffrey (Jennifer) Laude in Ologanpo City, a report on 24 Oras on Monday showed.

The German fiancé of the slain transgender woman arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at noon and went straight to Laude's wake to pay his last respects.

Laude's mother Julita also became emotional when Sueselbeck arrived. "Natutuwa ako na nandito na siya pero may kasamang lungkot kasi iba 'yung nandito siya kung buhay si Jen. Sayang 'yung mga pinapangarap niya," she said.

Both Sueselbeck and Mrs. Laude are now seeking justice for their loved one and calling on suspect Joseph Scott Pemberton, a US Marine, to face the allegations against him.

Mrs. Laude said, "Aminin niya yung ginawa niya... Pagbayaran niya 'yung ginawa niya.

"Kahit mamatay man ako ngayon, ipaglalaban ko siya [Jennifer], barilin man nila ako, okay lang kahit ikamatay ko, basta mabigyan ka ng hustiya, anak," she added.

Laude was found dead in a lodge in Olongapo City a few days ago. She had checked in with a foreign companion who was later identified as Pemberton.

The suspect, who is under the custody of US authorities, has been summoned to appear before the Olongapo City Prosecutor's Office for preliminary investigation on Tuesday. — Trisha Macas/BM, GMA News
