Vermont's Universal Recycling Law sets an ambitious target: all materials that can be recycled or composted will be banned from landfills in 2020. To get there, the state is phasing in the law and taking the first big steps this summer.
On the next Vermont Edition we’ll look at what kind of infrastructure and requirements are necessary to get all Vermonters to compost their food scraps and yard debris, and we'll answer your questions about how to get started or expand your own compost efforts at home and at work. Our guests are Josh Kelly of the Agency of Natural Resources, and Maia Hansen of the Highfields Center for Composting.
