These iOS 8 keyboards will free you from typing tyranny

Seeing as Swype has been a mainstay for Android users for nearly five years, it's no wonder that it's one of the first alternative keyboards available out the gate for iOS 8. Just like the Android version, Swype lets you swipe across the keyboard -- tracing connections to letters -- to create text instead of tapping on individual keys. It uses an algorithm to figure out what you're typing and it also learns from your behavior over time to offer better suggestions. Plus, it lets you add custom words to its dictionary.

From my testing of Swype on iOS, it works really well. The tracing of letters does result in words I actually meant to write, and as a result, I find myself typing a lot faster. There is a slight learning curve, but I didn't think it took that long to figure out. It's pretty identical to the Android version if you're already used to that.
