Thibaut Courtois watch: How did Atletico Madrid stopper fare against his parent club Chelsea in Champions League semi-final?

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtios was in the unusual position of playing against his parent club Chelsea in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final, first leg at the Vicente Calderon.

Sportsmail kept an eye on how the Belgian stopper got on against his parent club.

15th minute - Cech's night is over after he lands awkwardly clearing a corner as Raul Garcia crashes into him following a tussle with Chelsea's David Luiz.

18th min - Mark Schwarzer takes the Czech stopper's place, who picked up a shoulder injury, and, in the process, became the oldest player to appear in the Champions League knock-out stages at 41 years and 198 days.

20th min - John Obi Mikel makes it difficult for Courtois to get enough on a punch away and Gary Cahill heads wide of the goal. However, referee Jonas Eriksson had already blown for a foul.

27th min - Chelsea break well as Willian releases compatriot Ramires but his effort from the right flies harmlessly wide of Courtois' far post.

38th min - Courtois shows no nerves from a corner, easily claiming the ball through traffic inside a congested penalty area.

47th min - Frank Lampard tries his luck from 25-yards out but the shot is straight down the throat of Courtois, who makes a comfortable save.

59th min - Fernando Torres does well to create some space for a shot just inside the penalty area, however, the shot is too near Courtois and he easily gathers.

Full-time - Overall, a quiet night for Courtois in the Atletico goal as Chelsea barely mustered any real threat from an attacking perspective. Two shots from Chelsea duo Lampard and Torres were easily dealt with and when called upon, the 21-year-old showed great command of his penalty area.
