Alive in the World, a song cycle, by Paul Scott Goodman will have a special concert on Thursday, September, 11th at 8pm at the Tribeca Synagogue For the Arts (49 White St, New York, NY). Alive in the World is billed as: 5 New Yorkers 5 months after 9/11. Longing, loss, hope, fear, happiness. ALIVE IN THE WORLD premiered at NYMF in 2006 where it played an extended sold-out run.

The concert will feature the talents of AnnMarie Milazzo, Greg Naughton, Schuyler Iona Press, Donna Vivino, and Paul Scott Goodman.

Kate, a political activist, is married to Sam, a prematurely retired Wall Streeter, but she falls for Michael, a painter. Sam meets Stella, a 9/11 widow. This evolving musical attempts to capture moments in our time, evoking place, memory, love, loss and hope in New York City, where the specter of terror hangs heavy. How do we reach for happiness? Who do we hurt by doing so? How do we feel "Alive in the World"?

Paul Scott Goodman (music/lyrics/book) also wrote the score and book of Bright Lights, Big City, which premiered at New York Theatre Workshop and was revived in June 2006 at the Prince Music Theater. Goodman also penned Rooms: A Rock Romance that played New World Stages in 2008.

Tickets are $20. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to a 9/11 charity designated by The Tribeca Synagogue For the Arts. To purchase advance tickets or more information, visit: www.eventbrite.com/e/alive-in-the-world-tickets-11654686481.
