The snow could start by 5-7 a.m. on Wednesday. In all, the NWS predicts 4-8 inches of snow for Tarrytown before the storm ends overnight Nov. 26.

Don’t travel tomorrow on I-84 in New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo pleaded with motorists in a press release.

He said the state is prepared to close I-84 as early as 7 a.m. Wednesday.

According to weather intelligence provider Baron Services,

  • On Wednesday morning, Nov. 26, precipitation will rapidly move into the Boston area from DC. This is expected to begin in DC around 4 a.m., and travel northward to Boston by 9 a.m.
  • Precipitation will begin as a rain/snow mix, and then quickly transition to snow for the major metropolitan areas by early afternoon.
  • Travelers should note that by the late afternoon and evening hours, the snow is expected to blanket all major metropolitan areas, creating a travel nightmare for major cities across the Northeastern U.S.
  • The storm is expected to end Wednesday night.

“This is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, and with winter weather expected to impact much of the state, I urge all travelers to planning to use I-84 to establish an alternative route and exercise caution,” said Cuomo in a statement. “I’ve directed State agencies to be on heightened alert as this storm develops, and we are taking all necessary precautions to address potentially hazardous conditions. We’re hoping for the best, but planning for the worst in order to keep New Yorkers safe.”

Motorists who are planning to travel on I-84 are urged seek alternative routes or travel early. If motorists do choose to use I-84 tomorrow, they are urged to use due caution and call 5-1-1 to check road conditions before leaving.
