Coast Guard Auxiliary Thanks Buchanan

The village's and the Verplanck Flotilla have created a cooperative partnership.

Members of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary from Verplanck Flotilla 6-4 presented Buchanan Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker and the Village Trustees with a Certificate of Appreciation during a Town Board meeting on December 1, 2014.

“We acknowledge and honor the Village of Buchanan for their spirit of cooperation. The Village offers a location for our US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla to hold meetings and Boat Safety training classes throughout the year. We area very grateful to Buchanan Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker and the Village Trustees for allowing us to continue to provide these services to the community,” said Vice Flotilla Commander Charles Fitzpatrick.

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary urges all boaters to take advantage of boat safety classes in order to ensure proper operation on the waterway. Classes are available to the public at a flotilla in the spring 2015.
