Greenwich Man Faces Criminal Trespass Charge

The suspect is accused of letting two people into an apartment that was vacant because the tenant was vacationing.

A Greenwich man is facing a first-degree criminal trespass charge after police say he apparently entered a Monica Road home and let in two people who stayed in the apartment of the vacationing tenant.

According to a Greenwich Police report, a caretaker for the apartment, who happened to be an off-duty Greenwich Police officer, found two people inside the residence about 8:20 a.m. Aug. 22. The pair told the caretaker they were given access to the apartment by the suspect who apparently fled before police arrived, according to the report.

David R. Giacomara, 20, of 31 Harold Ave., who police said had been warned previously not to return to the apartment because of “multiple complaints against him,” was arrested a short time later at his home, according to the report.
