Glazer: Broncos bring in Incognito for workout, but pass on signing him

The Denver Broncos have been looking for more edge and attitude on their offensive line and they may have found an answer.

FOX Sports has learned the AFC Champion Broncos have brought in Richie Incognito for a workout and are contemplating signing him.

Incognito visited Broncos camp Monday for a workout. The team is doing its due diligence on potentially bringing him aboard. Incognito has been working out in Arizona, hoping to catch on with a team. The Broncos coaches are already very familiar with Incognito from coaching him in the Pro Bowl a couple of years ago.

The much-maligned Incognito hasn't played a down in the NFL since the Miami Dolphins suspended him in November 2013 for conduct detrimental to the team for a pattern of bullying incidents directed toward teammate Jonathan Martin. During this past offseason, Martin signed a contract with the 49ers.

The Broncos currently rank 26th in the NFL in rushing. In fact, this weekend, the 7-2 Broncos shuffled their offensive line in a win over the Raiders that included three new starters at different positions to try and find the right mix. The Broncos moved their center to right guard, right guard to right tackle, benched their right tackle and put a new starter in at center.

Incognito visited the Chiefs and the Bucs this season and in both cases, each team got skittish after numerous calls from people inside the NFL were made and no deals were ever consummated.

Athough Lovie Smith didn't sign him, as his Bucs traded that day for Logan Mankins, he was quoted as saying: "To me, nobody should have a death sentence. If you should, you're probably in jail. And then from there, what does it hurt to talk to someone? For me, as we go forward, I'm going to give everyone the benefit of the doubt until we have information that tells us otherwise."

The Broncos may give Incognito that chance.
