You might recall back in April when the Australian cast of The Lion King provided in-flight entertainment on their journey from Brisbane to Sydney, serenading passengers with “Circle of Life.”

Not to be outdone, The Broadway cast of The Lion King in New York City recently boarded an “A” train subway car and gave riders an unforgettable surprise.

June 28, while on a break between a matinee and evening performance, nearly 30 cast members raised their voices and delivered an a capella rendition of “Circle of Life.”

In 2013, the NYC subway served over 1 billion riders, and last year The Lion King became Broadway’s first $1 billion show.

Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical comes to life 8 times a week in the heart of Times Square at The Minskoff Theater.
