SC shortens Oct. 31 work day in courts by 30 more minutes

The Supreme Court shortened by 30 more minutes the work day for courts nationwide for Friday, the eve of Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Days).

In a revised advisory posted on its Twitter account, the high court said work in all courts will be up to noon only.

"Work in all courts nationwide will be up to 12 NOON ONLY, not 1230 as earlier announced," it said.

Initially, the high court said Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno suspended work for Friday starting 12:30 p.m.

On Thursday evening, Malacañang declared half-day work for government offices on Friday.

Memorandum Circular 73 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. suspended work in government offices effective Friday noon.

But deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte clarified the half-day work will not apply to agencies involved in basic and health services and other vital public services. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
