Carrie Underwood Pregnant With First Child
Fly Fisher is coming in Spring 2015.
Country superstar Carrie Underwood is pregnant with her first child. She announced the news via Instagram Monday: “In honor of ‘Labor’ Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn’t be happier,” she posted, along with a photo of herself with her dogs, sporting “I’m going to be a Big Brother” and “I’m Going to Be a Big Sister” t-shirts. (See below.)
Underwood and her NHL star husband, Mike Fisher, celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in July. The dad-to-be confirmed the news via Twitter, joking about a gender-neutral name choice.
“We haven’t picked names yet, but it’s looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher,” tweeted the Nashville Predator.
Underwood has pretty much cleared her calendar for her first two trimesters — at least when it comes to traveling. The pregnant star only has three festival dates scheduled for the rest of this year. She is, however, busy working on a new album — the follow up to 2012’s platinum-selling Blown Away.
“I’ve been writing a lot. It feels really good,” she told the Hollywood Reporter earlier this summer. “It’s just a progression, a different sound without losing myself in it. I’m not taking some crazy musical departure from what I’ve done, but it definitely feels different. It will feel different, look different, sound different.”
There’s no word yet on an exact due date for “Fly” nor his/her mom’s new LP.
