A trailer has also been released showing off the games' new looks, alongside some healthy Metacritic scores:The announcement also reveals that porting studio Virtuos (previously responsible for the Final Fantasy X and Heavy Rain remasters) is moving both games onto Unreal Engine 4. Even Rocksteady's new-gen Arkham Knight was an Unreal Engine 3 project, making this a first for the series.
The upgrade will feature "improved graphics, as well as upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders".
The July 29 release date puts it just a week after the digital release of the R-rated Batman: the Killing Joke movie, which sees the Arkham games' Batman and Joker actors, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, reprise their roles. Coincidence? Let's go with no. Joe Skrebels is IGN's UK News Editor, and he still thinks its weird that the singer from James was Victor Zsasz that one time. Reminisce with him on Twitter.
