Actor and author Sophie Lee has put her iconic Bronte home, Shell House, on the market.

Lee, and her husband, international advertising agency boss Anthony Freeman, are selling the Hewlett St home for $10m plus, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Shell House, which sits atop a sandstone ridge, takes its name”from the shell-like expression of the building form, inside and out”.

The property was designed by multi-award winning architect Walter Barda and features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a four-car garage and a private lift. Sitting on 603sqm, the home spans four levels.

A cantilevered pool at the front of the property offers stunning views to Sydney’s Bronte beach.

“TheShellHouse is perfectly positioned to take in the perennial beauty of the ocean, close enough to observe the famous beach, but also providing a rare haven of privacy and tranquility,” the listing says.

“No expense has been spared to create this world-class surfside home. Truly a creative masterpiece for resort-style beachside entertaining.”

Lee has stared in films including Muriel’s Wedding, Holy Smoke and The Castle and more recently turned to writing, penning the children’s book Alice in La La Land in 2008.
