Tragic Superhero Origin Stories, Reimagined as 16-Bit Comedies

Many superheroes have awful family-drama origin stories. This 16-bit animated video makes them easier to take by showing their parents being total jerks. For example, this excerpt from Superman's mom Lara Lor-Van: "Wooooo, no kids! Unburdened married life, here we come!"
Tragic Superhero Origin Stories Reimagined as 16Bit Comedies

Everyone has that one friend—and maybe it's you!—who seriously cannot get over how ridiculously, naïvely stupid Bruce Wayne's parents must've been to go strolling down a dark, creepy back street called "Crime Alley." They—or you!—bring it up all the time. Well, here's some good news for them (and us all, really): The folks at Dorkly have offered up a couple alternative ideas for how Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man's tragic origins might've been better written.

This 16-bit-style animated clip eschews the silly "overly dramatic turning point" business in favor of showing that the people in these superheroes' families were either working on a wack child-abandonment plot (Superman's folks Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, Peter Parker's Uncle Ben) or just kind of jerks (Bruce Wayne's parents). Sure, Uncle Ben's turn to a life of crime isn't exactly the more logical approach, but whatever, we're all for it. Better than seeing Tobey Maguire's cry face one more time, right?
