A Fight, A Threat, Workers Face Charges in Greenwich

A fight between two co-workers ends with one arrest; former employee charged with threatening ex-boss.

Greenwich Police arrested a 30-year-old man on charges he vandalized his former boss’s vehicle and threatened to burn down the boss’s house after he was fired.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Daniel J. Miller, of 19 Longfellow Dr., Carmel, NY, surrendered at police headquarters Aug. 21 where police held an arrest warrant charging him with criminal mischief and threatening. Miller “was terminated from his place of business” on Oct. 3, 2013 and “after being fired, Miller, then vandalized his former employer’s vehicle and also threatened to burn the former employer’s house down,” according to the police report.

Miller was released after posting $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Aug. 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A fight between two co-workers ended with the arrest of one man who was charged with third-degree assault. According to a Greenwich Police report, Julio Ariz, 36, of 579 Main St., Stamford, was arrested following the Aug. 20 incident at a business at 377 Greenwich Ave. that left the other worker with minor injuries.

Ariz was charged with third-degree assault and released on a written promise to appear Aug. 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford. The report did not indicate what prompted the fight or whether the other worker needed medical treatment.
