“Abhyasa (diligent and continuous practice) and vairagya (non-attachment, unattached awareness) are two sanskrit words that capture the essence of what yoga truly is… What Iyengar refers to as the bliss body… The equal balance of effort and surrender. Abhyasa urges us to go deep into life experiences rather than staying in the shallow end. Vairagya is what keeps us humble and reminds us on a regular basis that we may not be ultimately in control of everything. The dynamic balance of practice involves both the vigorous, zealous, devotional pursuit of consistent practice, and the detachment from the fruits of one’s efforts. This means giving it all you’ve got, pouring your heart and mind into your practice every day towards an intention, AND being okay with whatever result you get from that effort. Balance isn’t a destination to reach, or even a goal to achieve. Balance is a state of coordination achieved through constant attention, effort, AND letting go in order to surrender to change. It’s being open and inviting, while remaining unattached to the outcome. ••• Legging by WERKshop Clothing #Yoga #ElinoreCohenYoga #PureFlowYoga #IntentionIsEverything #Werkshop #TeamWerkshop http://ift.tt/1ArEdUb
