Scam e-mail takes aim at E-ZPass customers
We are hearing from viewers about a phishing e-mail claiming to be from E-ZPass.Get updates right from Brian on Facebook - LIKE his page hereThe e-mail is addressed to "dear customer" and it uses the familiar logo and colors of E-ZPass. It tells the potential victim that they have not paid for driving on a toll road. The e-mail includes a link at the bottom to download an invoice.Clicking on that link could download a virus or send you to a link that asks for personal information. E-ZPass has posted a notice of this phishing scam on its website. It points out legitimate toll violation notices are sent by mail, not email, from the E-ZPass customer service center.If you get the email, do not click the link.
