Season ticket holders will have the responsibility of naming a possible Las Vegas NHL team.
In an e-mail to supporters, investor Bill Foley says those who have made ticket deposits will have the chance to vote on the team’s name.
Earlier this week, Foley’s group Black Knight Sports and Entertainment LLC submitted an application for an NHL expansion team. That included a $10 million deposit, $2 million of which is non-refundable.
The only other city placing an application on time was Quebec City.
If Las Vegas lands the team, they’ll play at the arena being built behind New York New York Hotel & Casino. The team is not expected to play until the 2017-2018 season.
