Nothing makes a game worth playing quite like a good villain. From epic boss battles to persistent protagonists, villains tend to justify a game’s story and give the hero a reason to fight on. But what about when all’s not as it seems, and the big bad isn’t as big and, well, bad as you thought? Here, games™ collects some of gaming’s most misunderstood scoundrels…

"The London-based (the UK) indie games publisher Curve Games and Vienna-based (Austria) indie games developer Microbird, are today very proud and excited to announce that their colorful & creative ARPG/social sim "Dungeons of Hinterbeg", is coming to PC (Steam) and consoles (Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch) via digital stores on July 18th, 2024." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
About Saren... he was indoctrinated, yes but he was always a bad guy. Remember the backstory about him and Captain Anderson?
Handsome Jack is definitely a bad guy. The only redeeming quality is when he gets very angry at you for killing his daughter (showing some ounce of love for her) but he definitely is just a bad guy and not misunderstood.
President Eden... his 'cure' for purifying and ridding the water of contamination would also kill anyone tainted by radiation. So innocents will die because of his plan. That's something the writer left out.
Kefka,
Because he could.
The most developed villains always believe they are never the villains.
I like it better than the "Im evil, im taking over the world" route
