Google: Ranking www.guitartab.info or www.guitarist.guitars?

    Hi,

I have a website www.guitartab.info but it does not rank very well. Take a look if you want.

I am thinking of changing the domain name to guitarist.guitars?

I think the one word domain would do better. Do you agree?

Plus do you know whether .guitars domain names rank better than .info?

    Thanks,

    Matt.

to be honest, even .info will take ages to rank. Do a little experiment, search some keywords of your niche in google and see how many .info are in Google top 10. If you find 2 or 3 than you may go for .info.

    BUT IMHO stick to .com

p.s. I haven't seen a single custom tld ranking in google top 10 yet :)

From these two - go for .info.

Ranking is not just about having your keyword in the domain.. just go with optimizing your website for the best user experience.
Guitarist.guitars sounds pretty dumb, I'd go for .info

I suggest a good look at how to build content and improve the quality of the pages.

You will have to test how different keywords will affect the name and also the pages.

A competition search will tell you some good things.

Check the baclinks of the competition, that might give you some opportunities.

Would go for the more common TLD's. Never saw a weird TLD ranking well since they became available.

They should all rank similar if all things are equal. Go for the common sense: guitarists.guitars have repeat kw in them and are not useful for the user. Anyone who even heard of SEO will be able to say that it's aimed to artificially increase rankings.
