INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 20, 2014) – A former Greenwood High School teacher caught having sex with a student has agreed to a plea deal.
Under the terms of the agreement, Timothy Guilfoy would plead guilty to two counts of felony child seduction. Other charges would be dismissed and Guilfoy would face an eight-year sentence, with five years in the Department of Correction and three years suspended/on probation.
On March 1, Guilfoy–who taught physical education at Greenwood High School and coached girls golf and strength conditioning–was found naked in his truck with a 17-year-old student. He eventually resigned from his position.
According to court documents, the truck’s windows were “blacked out” and the windshield covered when police approached the truck as it was parked at an apartment complex in the 8800 block of Madison Avenue.
“We are having sex,” court documents quoted Guilfoy when he was asked what he was doing. He told investigators the girl was a former student of his who’d exchanged messages with him via text and Twitter.
A hearing on the plea deal is set for Oct. 7.
