A sex scandal involving a University of Wisconsin-Madison student from Ozaukee County is growing.Police are looking for several victims of sexual assault.Devan McCambridge, 19, of Saukville, is accused of trying to extort sexual favors from women and men. Sources said he acted from his off-campus apartment, using Craigslist and after initial contact he would make requests for more personal information and explicit photos."This individual admitted to reaching out to at least five or six people. We think it's many, many more than that," UW-Madison police spokesman Marc Lovicott said.Lovicott said investigators believe there could be victims in the Milwaukee area as well as Madison."If you've had contact with an individual online like this, and it rings a bell, let us know about it so we can talk to you, so we can bring more charges against this person and hold them responsible," Lovicott said.Police said it was a UW-Madison student, a woman, who lived in a dormitory along UW's lakefront who came to them saying McCambridge had threatened her. She told police he posed as another woman online, asked for explicit photos and then threatened to post the photographs and personal information online if she didn't comply with his demands for sex.Sources close to the investigation told WISN 12 News McCambridge lived in the Grand Central apartments at Mills and Johnson streets in Madison.It's where Emma Geiduschek lives."It's a little scary. I think it's a kind of a big lesson on Internet safety. And just being smart out there," Geiduschek said.Police said it wasn't just women. McCambridge also tried to lure and extort men into sex.UW-Madison police investigators said they caught McCambridge by working with the woman who came forward. She arranged a meeting with McCambridge and officers arrested him.
