Mocape is a special project proposal for Museum of Contemporary Arts and Planning Exhibition in the region of Shenzhen. It aims to provide intimate and iconic public building for the Futian Center District. The project demonstrates a pair of hands coming together and interlocking each other, this is universally recognized gesture that represents respect and humbleness.
The building would house a new internal square space, a nice protected space of tranquillity and calm with traditional Chinese courtyard characteristics. Mocape features 2 principal wings, where Contemporary Art Museum is on one side and Planning Exhibition spaces on the other. The public square is located between those two, creating a nice space for outdoor venues or a meeting place for communal activities. The harmony is further enhanced through the site landscaping where the plan of the city is recreated at a small scale with water features and hard landscaping framing a pedestrian route as well as re-establishing human scale to the site.

Mocape museum also features dramatic form of a charging bull, an energetic force and symbol of the city to drive forward. The unique sculptural form is constructed from concrete with a full-height steel trusses, there are glazed openings that control the daylight levels internally, giving selected views out. These large volume of areas along with staircases, ramps, and escalators link the free flowing form of the open plan interior. The fragmented shapes that make up the museum will create a dynamic cultural landmark, it also serves as a tranquil oasis for private contemplation.
