Patriots Re-Hire Dante Scarnecchia

Sometimes, you just can't stay away.

After several rumors and much speculation, the New England Patriots have officially re-hired offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia. Before he retired at the end of the 2013 season, Scarnecchia had been with the Patriots since 1992, where he became recognized as one of the greatest offensive line coaches of all time. He was in line several times for a head coaching gig throughout the NFL, but repeatedly made it clear that he was right where he wanted to be.

Needless to say, getting Scarnecchia back in the mix is huge for the Patriots. O-line was a huge problem this past season, and as of right now there are plenty of question marks as to what exactly caused the demise of what was once New England's most consistent unit. Was it a lack of talent? An abundance of injuries? No real opportunity to gel? Bad coaching? You can now cross that last one off the list, because Scar is back, and a weakness will soon be a strength.

Is this hiring a magic solution to all of the line woes? Of course not. But it's certainly a step in the right direction. Welcome back, Dante.
