The Juice butterflies open to reveal a great assortment of rugged, versatile tools.

The Exceptional Juice CS4 Pocket Multitool

The Juice CS4 from Leatherman is packed with excitement. Built on the same medium-sized chassis as the S2, it's protected by boldly colored anodized aluminum handles that open to reveal pliers, wire cutters and four screwdrivers, as well as a convenient saw and awl. Extremely useful serrated scissors are immediately available, along with a handy corkscrew, perfect for an emergency picnic on the slopes.

Key User Features

The integrated scissors are easily accessed with a nail nick, and the regular and hard-wire cutters are simple to lift out with their small notches. For easier removal of a cork, a notched assist is located at the end of the can/bottle opener. All you have to do is twist the corkscrew into a cork, then position the assist so the notch rests on the top edge of the bottle -- then lift the handles. It's as easy as opening a bottle of wine in your own kitchen.

The Juice CS4 features blades made of 100-percent high-grade stainless steel. Highly corrosion-resistant, these blades are extremely easy to maintain -- just clean them, dry them, and occasionally re-oil them for years of long life and great service.

I bought this a number of months ago and it is such an excellent tool. Every single tool on this works very well. However, this is not a 'hard-use' multitool so you do have to be careful when using. If you have real expectations this will work wonderfully. I have not had any real problems with this. For the size and weight of this it can simply not be beaten. This features a full pliers, which for the size again cannot be beaten. A swiss army knife cannot compete although a swiss army knife is considerably smaller. I keep this on me at all times and it is very useful for small jobs around the house. I only have two small problems with this and that the fact that dirt and debris can get caught in it fairly easily. As well as mine has a couple of small rust spots. To combat this I will soak it in water, dry it, and throw on some WD-40. Overall small problems and you will probably get them on almost all multitools of this caliber. Also when I got this I paid around $55. This as of 6/26/2014 is $79. At that price it is quite high but I would still highly recommended it but at $55 it is an excellent deal. For the size, weight, amount of tools, the excellent 25 year warranty, value (even at $79), and overall quality, this is an excellent deal and I would recommend anyone this looking for a light multitool.

The Juice CS4 was not as nice as I expected. The quality doesn't seem as good as the Wave I had bought previously. The flat screwdriver blades are chisel ground on one side which can lead to the blade turning out of the screw slot. The knife is also chisel ground, but on both sides, and is reasonably sharp. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they designed the can/bottle opener/corkscrew assist. The blade is not sharp at all, and requires substantial effort to puncture a can, almost to the point of bending. Once it penetrated the can, it worked reasonably well, though not as good as the Wave. The saw was very sharp, but had a bit of wobble, and the awl has to be opened first to get it out. The saw has to be pushed to one side before the awl can be closed. The awl is not sharp at all, but would probably work well with a little touching up. The pliers are very precise and well made. I was very pleased with them. All the tools opened easily and snapped in place, though they had substantial wobble.I purchased the CS4 to carry in my pocket, as the Wave is a bit heavy and bulky for that. The CS4 is less bulky, but still pretty heavy for pocket carry. Had I been able to inspect one beforehand, I probably wouldn't have purchased it, but its faults are not so bad that I would send it back. UPDATE: I've used this for a while, and I've upgraded it a star. The wobble in the tools doesn't seem to be much of a handicap. I've used the saw a few times, and it is awesome! It easily cut through a one inch square oak stick. I use the scissors more than anything else, and they are suprisingly handy. All the tools are holding up well, with no wear at all. I've gotten used to the weight in my pocket and carry it with me everywhere I go.

Four of the springs broke after less than one year of use. Returned to the company for replacement, sent the same model from other maker. same problem repeated after one year of non-intense use. Sent back to company for replacement, not heard from them since (more than six months) despite the life-time warranty from Leatherman.

Do not buy it, basically, if you are going to use it ever.

Edited: I had a similar model for long time but lost it at sea; since I had great experience with it (intense use even at sea for years), working OK, I decided to purchase this one as replacement... And it is not. Also had other leatherman knife (completely different model, more simple) that works OK. So, this is not a leatherman hater review.

Was attracted by great variety of tools, intended for carrying on vacation travel.

Opening the three flat-head screwdriver blades almost impossible. After breaking fingernails, I managed to open with help of my toolchest. I tried working blades repeatedly, but they did not ease. Also a bit heavy for pocket. So I returned this, disappointed.

Perhaps a simpler model would be easier to use and lighter.
      As always, great Amazon service.

Quite small, but heavier compared to swiss folding knife(of course without pliers). Knife has good combination of tools. Front part of pliers needs to be little grinded (first tooth is much higher than the others), because there is a small hole thick as sheet of paper(with jaws put together) , so you haven't got full grip and same pressure. Half of handle which has cork screw is bit thicker than the other, so it feels strange in hand if used as knife. Material used for saw is quite thin, so its end part is too flexible to sides and you can't close it with one hand because it is always crashing to awl. Same the bottle opener is always crashing to cork screw. Wire cutter has also more material in sides of cutting surface which is causing double resistance if you are using pliers. I was expecting more from that renowned brand.

I was looking for a small, easy to carry, multipurpose pocket tool that didn't compromise on functionality; and i found it! I did a fair amount of research before deciding what tool to buy and the leatherman brand was constantly noted as having very high manufacturing standards and a very competitive/extended warranty period. This tool is just light enough where it wont become a nuisance to carry in the pockets of jeans or kaki pants, (though i would not recommend keeping it in the pockets of sports/mesh shorts) but still retains almost all the tools you would need for any light repair or assembly job. Also, I thought the "glacier blue" color might draw some remarks from peers but the color has actually proven to be "manly" enough for any job; as an added benefit, the color makes the knife easily distinguishable from its surroundings. Besides, real men know its not the color that counts.
