Snatched - Part 1

Rate this book
I need to stop this wedding. My mother snuck behind my back to marry a gold-digger, but he'll not get his dirty hands on our company. Only I arrived too late, and now I have to cool my heels. I never let emotions interfere with my life, but I’m so pent up that, when I noticed that hooker working the room, I figure a play session will relieve my stress.

Her innocence is just an act – and we both know what the game is here. Don’t we?

A stranger, a hotel room, no words and no names. Who better to have a wild fling with? I’d been numb to the world for so long, with nothing but a mountain of crushing debts.

Then my father offered me a wad of cash to attend his glitzy wedding. I don’t do casual flings, but just this once, I want to be wanton and crazy. It’s not like I'll ever see him again.

About the author

Candy J. Starr

Candy J. Starr used to be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. “Screw you,” she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity – totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.

Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She’s seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She’s seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.

But, of course, everything she writes is fiction.

Exciting and fast-paced, this first part had it easy to convince me to continue reading the story of Veronica and Dom. She's alone after her mother's death, deep in debt and with thugs on her heels.

I could feel how desperate she was, hungry enough to accept the meager option fate gives her. That's when she meets Dom and falls prey to his overpowering lust-appeal.

It's very entertaining to read both POVs as they have these opposing thoughts about each other. I like them both as characters. They seem to have an amazing chemistry and their lives are so different that they are going to crash and burn in very enticing ways. Every scene that gets them closer to each other is laden with misunderstanding, but that is no deterrent to a very passionate encounter. I think Dom is going to be a tough ice cube to melt, but I'm hoping he will eventually see that Veronica deserves so much more than what he's been thinking about her.

I'm really eager to know how this hot couple will fight their way through all the troubles and deceptions to the truth of who they can be together. There are strong hints of BDSM play and a cliffhanger. Part of the charm? ;o)

This is a steamy serial. Dom is a dirty dog, he's rushing to his mothers wedding to stop her marrying a guy he thinks is after her money, he's too late, so whiles he's there he picks up a hooker, he thinks, for a fast lay instead...He should have checked the guest list.
Wow! This was a great start and I'm going to be driven crazy until I get the next instalment of what I can see is going to be an excellent serial. I want more dirt from Dom, he's hot. Hehehe.

This is a quick, short read. It's part of a serial with a cliffhanger ending. Although it's short, it's hot. You have Veronica is is down on luck. She has lots of bills. Her father comes back and offers to pay her bills. Then you have Dom, who is a billionaire trying to stop his moms wedding. There is chemistry that ends with both parties getting hurt. One gets insulted the other physical. It's a great read and can't wait for part 2.

For a short book, 59 pages, I thought it was full of detail and an interesting storyline. Veronica needed money or she never would have give to her Dad's wedding. Dom needed to stop his Mom's wedding. What happens is steamy and left me anxious to see where the story goes. Looking forward to book two.

I think my favorite part of this book was the sex scenes. The way the main guy dominated the main girl was just delicious and suited me perfectly.

The story itself was meh. I started skimming it just to get to the next sex scene, and when they two main characters get separated in the second half, I started to lose interest. I feel like the conflict was drawn out much longer than it actually should have been.

I’m tempted to read the other books in this series just to read more of the sex scenes, but this book appears to end happily, so I’m not sure if I actually will.

This was a short read and I wish I could have read more. Veronica needed money so in order to get it she had to attend her dad's wedding, however she never got the funds. Then she meets this stranger whom she know nothing about and ends up in the hotel room having a quickie. Dom thinks that he is having a quickie with a stripper because of the way she's dressed and ends up in the lobby with Veronica running after finding out that they are step-siblings to one another. I would love to read more of this story to know what happens.

Book 1: This amazing series is about a young women named Veronica who gave up going to school in order to help her dying mother. At the time she racked up a lot of medical bills and borrowed money from loan sharks and unable to pay. After not seeing her father for 10 years he wants her to come to his upcoming wedding to a Billionaire. She said she would go only if he would pay if her debts. At the wedding she meets a gorgeous sexy male and without knowing it he is her new stepbrother. The first book in this amazing series provides for the foundation for the storyline. You will be captivated right from the start. There are so many twists and turns in this book. The characters are realistic. The story is very well written. The plot is exciting and captivating. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. This book is sexy, funny, romantic with twist an turns. A must read as you will not be disappointed. Dom wanted everything, and I mean everything, to be in his control. Veronica is barely getting by.

One day Veronica receives a phone call that will alter her life forever. After years of not hearing from him, her dad calls wanting he to come to his wedding. She doesn't want anything to do with him since he left her and her mom and never showed up for her mom's funeral. But there's a catch, if she shows up, he'll pay off all her debt.

Dom finds out that his step-mother is getting married. He vows to stop it at any cost. When he sees a young lady at the wedding he believes her to be a hooker looking for a free meal and a hook-up. She seems so innocent, he believes she is a real good actress.

When Veronica lets herself just let go for one night, she would never believe the way things would go after.

Can't wait for Part 2.

Normally I am not a fan of cliffhangers or serials but I do enjoy the author so I decided to give this a try. I was not disappointed.

Veronica is on her own since the death of her mother and struggles to get by. Dom is a businessman with particular tastes. This book had alternating POVs so you got to see the perspective of both characters when they meet. I definitely want to see how these characters grow over the course of this story.

Honest Review

While starting out this book you feel for the daughter. You can feel the hopelessness of the situation. How hard life has been to this point in her life. The one shining star was her mom and you can feel the hate for her dad. Then a steamy encounter with a gorgeous guy. Hmmmm can't wait for the rest to come out.

Two words: Stockholm syndrome
At least the heroine acknowledges it.
Could've been a good story anyway, but why it wasn't just a whole book instead of parts, I don't know.
Also, the ending sucked, needed more close on Gramps.
Something else bothered me about it, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
