What If Newark Liberty International Airport Looked Like This? By 2016, It Might

A huge $120 million refurbishment of Newark Liberty’s Terminal C is underway, and United passengers will have much to look forward to when it finally opens next year. First announced in November, the project will ultimately bring a total of 55 distinct dining venues to the airport, all of which will be overseen by OTG, the food-service company that’s already redefined airport dining at New York’s JFK and LaGuardia. Here’s an early look at what to expect.

One of the signature restaurants will be Kaedama, a ramen spot in the center of Pier C-1, one of the three piers at Terminal C.

Nearby, passengers will find a barbecue spot called Notorious P.I.G.
The Happy Clam will offer all-day service in Pier C-2. It's one of a number of “oases” that will be “the first permanent concepts scheduled to open this year,” an OTG spokeswoman says. “They are located in the middle of the concourses and will replace moving walkways" throughout the terminal.

Even casual cafes will have OTG's signature iPad ordering stations, which make it easier to request (and pay for) meals.
The Little Purse Dumpling Den will be a new concept for the airport from New York's Dale Talde, the chef behind his namesake Brooklyn restaurant and Thistle Hill Tavern. "The menu will include a wide variety of items from shumai to wontons to xiao long bao and seasonal specials," an OTG spokeswoman says.

A French bistro called Saison is one of a few new concepts coming to Pier C-3, which will also have a beer hall and an outpost of CBGB, New York’s legendary and now-shuttered music venue.
There’s one additional detail that has yet to be revealed: the identity of the “Classified” venue that’s referred to by OTG as a “UA Private Restaurant” in documents.
