The stars hit Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on Saturday for the 22nd Screen Actors Guild Awards. The celebratory evening was full of red-carpet ready awards show style, but some looks were more successful than others. See the 11 best (and five worst!) looks from the night, ahead.

BEST: Viola Davis

Viola Davis wore this plum-colored Zac Posen dress, and though those oversized off-the-shoulder sleeves would overwhelm anyone else, Davis is working the architectural design in truly regal style.

BEST: Jacob Tremblay

Pinstripes and bow ties and vests, oh my! In this tailored three-piece suit, pint-sized Jacob Tremblay is as adorable as ever.

BEST: Laverne Cox

You gotta love a lady in red: Laverne Cox looked gorgeous in a Grecian-style burgundy Prabal Gurung gown accented with sweet pleats and a sophisticated capelet.

BEST: Eddie Redmayne

Eddie Redmayne might have been nominated for his turn as a transgender pioneer in The Danish Girl, but he could have earned an award for just how damn sharp he looked in a slim-cut Dior tux. Plus, the former model gets extra points for dressing himself without the help of a stylist.

BEST: Brie Larson

Coming off a winning Golden Globes look — who could forget that gorgeous gilded gold gown? — the pressure was on for breakout actress Brie Larson to pull off another stylish awards show moment. In cool blue Atelier Versace, complete with a thigh-high slit, cleavage cutout and sexy draping, she definitely succeeded.

BEST: Idris Elba

Mark Twain once said that clothes make the man, but in this case, Idris Elba's swagger makes this suit an absolute standout. Looking incredibly sexy and sophisticated in Zenga, Elba — a double winner on the night — could have also won an award for this look too.

BEST: Alicia Vikander

Swedish starlet Alicia Vikander — who won best supporting actress for her role in The Danish Girl — opted for a daring Louis Vuitton sequined design for her very first SAG Awards. A bit mod, with its boat neck style and oversized checkerboard pattern, it definitely cements Vikander as a leading member of Hollywood’s cool girl squad.

BEST: Kiernan Shipka

The sophisticated purple brocade, delicate princess cut and icy blue embroidery makes this Erdem gown the stuff red carpet dreams are made of. Our verdict? Shipka looks absolutely stunning.

BEST: Queen Latifah

The Bessie lead looks like a total boss in a long-sleeved Michael Costello gown made unique thanks to its intricate geometric pattern. Oh, and that awesome fauxhawk? Freakin’ awesome.

BEST: Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig has never been one for ballgowns, so this structured Roland Mouret pantsuit – accented with embroidered silver stars and a single strap – seems right up her alley.

Dressed in a sleek bronze sequined Rachel Comey design and rocking carefree disco curls, Transparent actress Gaby Hoffmann looks sexy, fresh and super fun. This is a winner, hands down.

Part military uniform, part bordello costume, Lori Petty’s Pepto-Bismol pink number was quite possibly the wildest outfit sported on the red carpet.

Let’s have a moment of silence, shall we? This shiny brocade, half-sleeve situation just didn’t work, even on a stylish star like Christina Hendricks.

Zzz. Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg could have tried just a tiny bit, since this silver shirt and tie combo is seriously lacking.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt lead’s comedic style makes her a stand out and this multi-colored Peter Pilotto paisley gown does too — but in all the wrong ways. Maybe after the show, she can revamp the material for a really rad sofa pillow.
