Jason Aldean now owns the distinction of being the most downloaded dude in country music history. On Monday (Aug. 4), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that the star has notched over 21.5 million certified digital song downloads or on-demand streams, making him the top digital male in the genre’s history.

In a statement, Aldean described the certification as a “huge honor” and thanked fans, his team, and the RIAA. “I love country music,” he said, “and I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else… there was never a Plan B for me.”

The milestone arrives a week after Aldean scored his first No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart with new single “Burnin’ It Down.” In its second week on radio, the track soared 42-1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, giving him his ninth No. 1 and the biggest leap to the summit in the list’s history. “Down,” co-written by Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins, and the Florida Georgia Line guys, is the lead single from Aldean’s upcoming sixth album.
