Stevie Nicks Joins ‘The Voice’ as Adam Levine’s Advisor

Fleetwood Mac frontwoman will appear on the show's seventh season when it kicks off this fall

Adam Levine‘s Voice team is getting some help from a “Gold Dust Woman”: Stevie Nicks is set to assist the Maroon 5 frontman’s team as a musical advisor for the NBC competition’s seventh season, Extra reports. The show confirmed the news yesterday on Twitter, writing, “#TeamAdam it’s time to welcome @StevieNicks to #TheVoice family!”

The two singers might represent different ends of the pop music spectrum, but they have a shared history on The Voice: Team Adam performed a version of Nicks’ haunting Fleetwood Mac anthem “Landslide” during the Season One finale, and the iconic singer playfully told Extra that her presence may have been a good luck charm for that year’s champion, Javier Colon. “I won the first season, actually. I did!” Nicks said. “I flew in, barely made the show, no rehearsal, then Javier won. I looked at Adam and went, ‘He won!’”

Nicks won’t be the only new face on Season Seven, which premieres on September 22nd. Joining mainstay rival coaches (and occasional bromancers) Levine and Blake Shelton will be Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani, who will replace Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera in the rotation. (Season Six featured Usher and Shakira.) “It was smooth sailing from the beginning,” Levine says of his new colleagues. “They are frighteningly good at it.”

In other Nicks-related news, Fleetwood Mac announced earlier this year that long-absent keyboardist-singer Christine McVie will return to the band for a 34-date “On With the Show” world tour – kicking off on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Minneapolis, Minnesota – and a new studio album. “As the years went on, I had some deluded idea that I wanted to live the “Country Lady” life — basically hang out with my Range Rover and my dogs and bake cookies or something,” McVie told Rolling Stone of returning to the band. “I don’t know what I was thinking, really.”
