If you use the Twitter app on your Mac, images get cached on your hard drive and can take up space. James Powell from Mac Tricks & Tips shows you how to find the cache and clear it out.
A lot of cleaning tools will clear out caches, but they could be missing this one. Powell, who uses CleanMyMac, found he had 2GB of profile images cached there even after he ran his cleanup tool. These images are profile images, so the amount of room actually being taken up will relate to how often your followers change their picture, and how many people you follow.
Just open up the Finder, head to the Go menu, and choose Go to Folder. From there, type the following and press enter:
~/Library/Containers/com.twitter.twitter-mac/Data/Library/Caches/com.atebits.tweetie.profile-images<br>
Delete the contents of that folder to clear the cache.
It may not seem like a ton of space, but if you're operating on an SSD or just like to keep your machine clean, check the link and get that cache cleared out.
