Bound By Flames – The First Two Hours

Looks like someone got Bound By Flames a bit early for their PS4 as they were streaming the game earlier today. Here’s a look at the first two hours of the game.

I disagree. Looks like a casual Dark Souls without the clever level design or complex combat system, I would be cautious and wait for reviews if you're interested in it.

Dark113651d ago

For God's sake stop comparing everything to dark souls.

DafunkyRebel3651d ago

Looks harder then DS actualy the first boss is pretty tough already

PeaSFor3651d ago (Edited 3651d ago )

..and Dark Souls is simply a casual Demons Souls with all the bonfires/checkpoints to accomodate the noobs.

Dark Souls, clever level design and complex combat system?
The quality of games have been significantly reduced from the older days...

Dark souls, wait until the enemy makes his move, then attack, repeat.
It gets repetitive real soon.

Don't feed the troll PeaSFor. Need to see some more disagrees up in here for souls which have maintained their level of hardcoreness.

Bunch of Offtopic nonsense. This game isn't Dark SOuls. It has elements of Amalur, Souls, Dragon's Age, Dragons Dogma and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head but it looks cool and i will be picking it up May 9th

Plus it is launching at $50. So it's cheaper right off the bat. With best buys gamer club i'm getting it for $40 with my CGU discount. I think i'll be pleasantly surprised with this game. Not setting my expectations super high as i would with an established franchise that has had multiple iterations, but looking forward to a new twist gameplaywise to see what it brings.

ooo looks like I had some store credit saved up too. i'll be picking it up for around $25 after certs and cash back on my card. no reason to wait with deals like that.

GameDev13652d ago

Graphics are a bit better than it looked previously

Nine_Thousaaandd3652d ago

Yeah...looks interesting, think I'll give it a go next week...but that $50 price tag makes me wanna hold off a bit. Hope PS+ gives a discount on it for the first week, come on Sony...do it!

Meltic3651d ago

PC ?. The price there is like 300 bucks or if you wanna go dark side there is pirate but dont do it

candy_mafia3652d ago (Edited 3652d ago )

Viewed this guy kaiico playing Bound by Flame on Twitch via PS4 live earlier today, same video posted with this article. Gotta say the new 720p upgrade is a super improvement!

Anyway, it looks mediocre, has terrible unimaginative creature design, the hit detection is woeful, and the acting is awful. It's so bad it has LOL value.

I can see this one relegating to the bargain bin, and a huge discount on PSN within 2 months of release. Truly a very poor linear RPG with low budget production values.

I'm just being honest and alerting my fellow gamers. I love RPG's, but sorry this is a disappointing 6/10 all day long.

Even Dark Souls on PS3 looks & plays better than this. Don't say I didn't warn you ;/

stavrami-mk23652d ago (Edited 3652d ago )

Have said exactly the same although some ppl may like it. I may pick it up cheap at some point but am not expecting much. The gameplay I have seen is poor at best but not to say it's the worst I've seen though. Looks a little like kingdoms of amalur

candy_mafia3652d ago (Edited 3652d ago )

Sadly I would only be tempted if it was free on PS+. It really isn't worth your money or time at any price over $20, which there are better games to be played for that price.

I followed Bound by Flame on Youtube for almost 8 months hoping it would come good. I think you may find even Two Worlds II is better...seriously, it's that bad.

But of course, it's only my opinion...I just don't want folks wasting their hard earned money. Games aren't exactly cheap you know ;(

Palitera3651d ago

Even if it was free, I don't see it being worthy of any playtime.

Sly-Lupin3651d ago

There's,a,strong tradition of first a year RPGs being uniquely awful, so no reason to expect this generation to be any different.

sdozzo3652d ago

Sadly, Dark Souls 2 is my deal for a while. I'll still play this in a few months but DS2 is a bear to follow.
