Wearable PrioVR controller hits Kickstarter target

PrioVR, a wearable suit that enables full-body motion control in games without the use of a camera, has achieved its Kickstarter goal, with 41 days still to remain in the campaign.

Shown at CES, playing a custom, Unity-based first-person shooter, PrioVR relies on a series of inertial sensors worn on the head, torso, arms and legs. Manufacturer YEI Technology failed in a Kickstarter campaign last year, raising only $111,237 of a $225,000 goal, but managed to pass the goal this time in just a few days.

The suit, which comes in three configurations, including a Lite half-body version costing $249, has raised $134,000 of a $75,000 goal. Some offers are sold out, including the early bird deals for the 12-sensor and 17-sensor Core and Pro versions.
