The name says it all.... Domestically Challenged. I live in Akron, Ohio. I've been living on my own for 6 years now and up until 2004 had never been near a stove unless I was cleaning it. I am the self-dubbed Microwave Queen. In 2004 I decided that I'd like to give stovetop cooking a try. I was surprised to find out that I could actually enjoy cooking. The only thing left to do was figure out if I could make anything edible! I've had a few successes but overall I haven't had much luck with cooking (although, I still haven't given up). When I find a recipe that works for me, I'm estatic about it. I may make it 2 or three times in a row. I'll have it at home one day and if I like it, I'll make it for work the next day and then I make a batch for my friends. :-) Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the standard recipes like hamburgers and baked chicken and rice, pasta salads, etc. I want to get proficient at making the foods that I REALLY enjoy. Like Chinese foods, Thai noodles, specialty soups, and non-traditional party appetizers to name a few.
