ABA Board Thanks Hosts for Successful Fall Meeting

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 -- The American Bus Association issued the following news release: The American Bus Association Board of Directors wants to thank the fabulous tourism community of Dutchess County and the entire Hudson Valley, New York region. Our partners were great hosts during the Board's recently concluded three-day fall board meeting held at the Mohonk Moutain House in New Paltz, New York, September 21st-24th.

The ABA Board of Directors meets three times a year to discuss important issues facing the motorcoach, travel and tourism industry. Issues include government regulations, safety, business development, and ways to improve the traveling experience for the hundreds of millions of people who ride motorcoaches every year for business or on a group travel trip.

Outside of the meetings, on Sunday evening, September 21st, the ABA board toured and had dinner at the recently renovated Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, York. Thousands of items from America's 32nd President are on display.

Monday evening board members and guests visited the world famous Culinary Institute of America, a private not-for-profit college specializing in culinary education. Many future great Executive Chefs are now being educated at the CIA.

Tuesday night the board took a cruise down the Hudson River aboard the ship "Rip Van Winkle" and later had dinner at the historic Rhinecliff Restaurant overlooking the Hudson.

All of the destinations and restaurants visited by the ABA Board of Directors are very motorcoach friendly, and these businesses know the importance of ABA bus operators and the business they bring to the community.

Motorcoach transportation for board members and their guests was provided by Adirondack-Pine Hill-New York Trailways. The company's President and CEO, Eugene Berardi, serves on the ABA board.

"The people of the Hudson Valley, including our hosts with Dutchess County Tourism, could not have been more gracious and outgoing. They, along with the staffs of the great places we visited, really understand the value of relationships, and the great return-on-investment when it comes to motorcoach business and group tours," said ABA President and CEO Peter Pantuso. "Plus our partners are fortunate to live and work in one of the most beautiful places in the United States to visit." In New York State and the Hudson Valley, tourism and the motorcoach industry are huge contributors to the state and region's economic well-being. In New York State, ABA Foundation research shows our industry provides 87,000 full-time equivalent jobs, generating $12.2 billion dollars in annual economic activity. In New York's 18th, 19th and 20th Congressional Districts, tourism and the motorcoach industry are responsible for nearly 9,300 jobs and $1.3 billion dollars in annual economic activity.
