Florida State wasn’t the only team in The Sunshine State to unveil brand new uniforms over the weekend. Miami also showed off a sharp new collection of four uniforms to wear for the upcoming season.

The program teased the launch of the uniforms to the team and fans over the past few months and on Saturday, prior to the team’s annual spring game, the different uniform combinations were finally showcased to the public.

To showcase the details of their “renewed identity,” a website was launched to show off the four interchangeable combinations now available for any game to be paired with the white and silver helmet or the brand new orange helmet with a grey facemask.

A press release about the uniforms describe which uniforms the Hurricanes will wear in certain situations.

Per the release:

At home, the Hurricanes will dress in orange. The orange jersey (“Juice”) is accented by green directional graphics at the shoulder. A clean white and silver helmet, featuring an anodized finish and grey facemask, completes the look. The white jersey (“Storm Trooper”) and pant is accented with green at the shoulder, and serves as the foundation of the away look. The white uniform is capped with a white helmet. The team will also showcase two alternate uniform colors – the first alternate showcasing a green jersey (“Surge”) and pant with a white helmet. The team will also introduce a new alternate anthracite “Smoke” jersey and pant serving as a reminder of the early pioneering pre-game smoke that opened every home game.

The players were able to see the uniforms on Friday and cameras were there to capture the team’s reaction. The team was extremely excited.

The program is selling the new uniforms as a representation of the team making it through its NCAA sanctions and coming out as a strong program on the other side.

“The uniform comes at the right time for the right team,” said head coach Al Golden. “These young men, who unselfishly guided us through some very dark days, now display a renewed attitude and spirit. These new uniforms capture that outlook.”

When designing the new uniforms, Miami’s tradition was embraced while also implementing a modern look.

“The innovative look respects our tradition but perhaps more importantly represents our future and our current Canes,” Golden said. “We have one of the most iconic logos in college sports and Nike has combined that with its latest performance technology to produce a sleek, dynamic new uniform for The U.”

The Hurricanes will get to show off the new threads in the season opener on the road at Louisville, a Monday night matchup.
