Before director Tony Scott tragically passed away last year, he had several projects in development including a sequel to Top Gun. Now one of his projects might have life again as The Wrap reports The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman is in early talks to take on Narco Sub for Fox. The project comes from David Guggenheim, the writer of Safe House with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. In the film, after a captain’s son is kidnapped by a drug cartel, he is blackmailed by the drug traffickers into piloting a broken down rebuilt submarine from South America to the United States, carrying no less than 20 tons of cocaine.
Simon Kinberg developed the project with Guggenheim and will act as producer through his Genre Films banner. As for Liman, he's working on the sci-fi action thriller Edge of Tomorrow for Warner Bros. (with a release set for next summer) and still working on getting a movie about climbing Mount Everest off the ground. And in the wake of Tony Scott's death, the Scott Free production banner will also still produce the film after the director became linked to the project nearly 2 years ago. It's bittersweet knowing the project is moving forward with Scott passed away, but he likely would have wanted the movie to move forward.

Will be up for checking this, the storyline could be pretty decent as the drivers of those subs rarely want to do the job in real life. Legalise it maaaaan.
