Strictly presenter Tess Daly: I would love to swap places with Adele for 24 hours
TV presenter Tess, 46, is best known as the host of Strictly Come Dancing since 2004 and of Children In Need since 2008.
Tess is also an ambassador for Pandora jewellery. Tess is married to TV and radio presenter Vernon Kay and they live in Buckinghamshire with their daughters, Phoebe, 11, and Amber, six.
With Strictly Come Dancing now over, what are you plans for 2016?
I plan on being even more hands-on in my role as joint patron, along with Vernon, of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. The hospital needs to raise a certain amount of money each year in order to keep it at the forefront of children’s medicine. It is an incredibly inspiring place.

Are you planning any time off?
During Strictly you get sucked into a wonderful sparkly vacuum and it becomes our lives pretty much from September right up until Christmas.
So, yes, once it’s finished it’s time to catch up on family time and visit relatives up north on the weekends.
How did you become involved with Pandora?
I’ve always loved the brand and what it stands for. Pandora is all about celebrating women and their style, which really appealed to me. I’ve been a fan of Pandora ever since purchasing a charm bracelet for one of my best friends, so for me the partnership was really natural.
My mum and daughters also love Pandora.
Are you a big fan of jewellery?
There are certain pieces that I couldn’t live without, as they hold such sentimental value. Jewellery should be playful, however, and all the old rules about not mixing metals have completely gone out the window.
At the moment I’m obsessed with wearing lots of Pandora Rose with sterling silver – it’s a really contemporary look and great for the evening as well as every day.
Who would you swap places with for 24 hours?
It would have to be Adele, just to know what it feels like to possess that incredible vocal talent.
What’s the biggest misconception about you?
That I’m glamorous 24/7. You should see me getting ready for the school run.
What’s been the most embarrassing moment of your career?
Almost popping out of my bra top while doing a sketch dressed up as Kylie Minogue on the kids’ show SM:TV Live back in the early days. That and losing my shoe coming down the stairs on Strictly.

I had a furtive little weep at my daughter’s nativity play.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
My father would advise me “to make sure you enjoy all that you do. After all, it’s later than you think.”
