Two girls, aged nine and 11, have been found safe after not returning home to their eastern Ontario cottage last night.

Ontario Provincial Police say the pair didn’t come home after playing a game of hide and seek, and officers launched a massive search in the wooded area near Calebogie.

The names of the girls and the family have not been released, but OPP say the 11-year-old is from Barrie and the 9-year-old is from near Kingston.

Const. Janice Sawbridge told CTV News the search took place in a heavily-wooded area, but said police had been optimistic about finding the girls.
