Trent West gains injunction

Trent West, owner of nine patents related to manufacture of tungsten carbide rings, has gained an injunction against Bijou Max LLC of Los Angeles, prohibiting sales of tungsten carbide rings in the U.S.

Bijou Max sells under the brand names Metal Masters Co., Ultimate Metals Co. and Bonndorf.

West has sued more than 20 sellers of tungsten carbide rings alleging unlawful infringement of his patents and is seeking monetary damages.

According to West, legally authorized sellers of tungsten carbide rings are Frederick Goldman, Benchmark, Jewelry Innovations, and Fable.

Tungsten carbide has become one of the most popular contemporary metals for wedding bands, representing 32 percent of the men”s wedding band market, because of its scratch resistance.
