The Photography Workshop in Dorset and Jurassic Coast organized by Alessio Andreani and Alessio Putzu it is an opportunity for all photography enthusiasts to discuss about landscape photography with two international recongnised photographers and sharing a great experience with other enthusiasts. The intent is to learn and entertain, giving everyone a weekend of photographic adventure with an high level of learning. Thanks to the sponsors there will be filters kits available for the duration of the course.

Typology: Landscape Photography course on the field

When: 23th – 24th January 2016

From 1 pm of 23th January until 9pm of 24th January (the final schedule will be send to the partecipants before the course)

Workshop in Dorset & Jurassic Coast, key points:

  • Having the best from your equipment and manage the light with the help of ND filters , GND and polarizer
  • Understanding how to use creatively the shutter speed, depth of field and the prospects of different focal
  • The composition with its basic rules ( diagonal , third , etc. ) and advanced, how to use them and when to break them
  • Post-production: clean and efficient, manage your photos without an heavy workflow
  • How to prepare a file for the web or for print
  • Long exposure: how to set the camera, manage the exposure and post-produce your long exposure shots
  • There will be many opportunities to answer all the questions from the participants , such as shooting at night, the Milky Way, star trails , ecc.

Recommended equipment:

  • Camera with wide-angle to medium -telephoto ( 16/17/20/24/28/35 mm full-frame sensor or similar and 18/24/28 mm APS- C )
  • Tripod
  • Remote shutter
  • Filters (slot in filters or screw in: ND, polarizers, GND) – You can test tutor’s filters and from our sponsor NiSi

Clothing:

Average temperatures in Dorset for the period are between 0 and 6 degrees, heavy warm clothes are recommended and a rain proof vest are essential. We will be shooting at sunrise and sunset on the cliffs in the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, so it is strongly recommended appropriate footwear. Dorset & Jurassic Coast workshop fee and services included:

The price for the Photography Workshop in Dorset is £250 per person (£200 if accommodation is not required ) and includes:

  • Photographic workshop in the field with two tutors available for the whole time
  • Advanced post-processing on Lightroom, Camera raw and Photoshop
  • Review and comment of the portfolio of the participants
  • Course materials provided in PDF at the end of the workshop
  • Accommodation and breakfast (in double / triple room with single beds)

What’s not included:

  • The transportation to and start from Lulworth Cove (Dorset)
  • Food and drinks for lunch/dinner
  • Everything not mentioned under “… services included”

Schedule:

  • January 23th 2016; 1 pm: Meeting in the selected location
  • 1:15 pm to 3:45 pm: Introduction and preparation for sunset – Theory
  • Hours 4 pm to 5:30 pm: Photography on the field in the beautiful Jurassic Coast in Durdle Door
  • 7 pm: Dinner
  • January 24th 2016; 6 am to 08:30 am: Photoshoot at sunrise
  • 09:30: Breakfast
  • 10:30 am to 12 pm: Session of post-production and revision of the shots

The tutors will brief the participants with an updated schedul before the dates. The equipment from the teachers will be available to the participants to test and understand the teachings ( Nikon D800 / D750 , Kit Lee Filters / Hitech / NiSi , Polarizer Heliopan and more)

Useful Information:

  • In case of light rain the workshop will be held anyway
  • Ifadverse weather conditions the course will be covered in detail on theory
  • The reservation is made ​​at the payment of 50% of the total cost of the workshop
  • The total amount will be paid on the day of the course
  • If a participant is not present the day of the course, he will lose the deposit, but the remains is not due.
  • The minimum number of participants is 3
  • The maximum number is 5
  • The workshop will be held anyway if one tutor is not available
  • If the workshop is cancelled all deposits will be refounded
