Halloween. What a wonderful holiday. Costumes, haunted houses, pumpkin evisceration, and free candy. Seriously, there are few holidays that can compete with Halloween in crazy awesomeness and weirdness (St. Patrick's day, I'm giving you the second place prize).

When I used to work in the business world, I could wear orange ties and crazy socks to celebrate Halloween all month long. Now that I work in a hospital where I wear the same hospital provided scrubs every day, my options for self-expression are severely limited. Fortunately, the Halloween Watch Face now exists and I can carry a little Halloween spirit (Get it? There was a little joke right there. Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss it, because it wasn't super obvious. Well, now it is. Ok, you can keep reading.) right on my wrist.

Halloween Watch Face is a watch face for Android Wear that looks like a jack-o-lantern. For a buck you get both digital and analog clock options, four haunted fonts, and 17 different spooky and goofy faces to choose from. Here's a sample of about half of the faces.

The digital clock face can be used in either a 12 or 24 hour format and adds a battery indicator. In ambient mode you can choose a smaller, less detailed pumpkin face that will show in the bottom third of the screen.

As you might imagine, the watch face really looks best on a circular screen because pumpkins are typically round. On a square screen, like the one of my Sony SW3, it kinda looks like this to me.

Oh well. Square pumpkins are pretty cool too. If you like the idea of an orange, glowing vegetable face on your wrist, then you can download the app using the widget below. Alternatively, you can carve a pumpkin, put a candle in it, and tie it to your arm. That would probably be perceived as rather odd by everyone, and it may violate a few fire codes, so you should probably opt for the app instead. Happy Halloween.
