Even though Elon Musk appears to be the kind of guy who filters his words, he frequently seems to…forget.

That’s how we learned that Tesla has another automobile in the works (the Model Y), and that he doesn’t really thinks very much of Apple. In an interview with the German newspaper Handelsblatt, the entrepreneur bashed Apple’s good name by saying:

“They have hired people we’ve fired. We always jokingly call Apple the ‘Tesla Graveyard.’ If you don’t make it at Tesla, you go work at Apple. I’m not kidding.”

This response came after Musk was asked about the fact Apple kept hiring Tesla engineers. A surprising answer, especially as the two firms seem very similar to one another when it comes to public perception.

Moreover, Tesla’s CEO agreed that Apple’s electric-car venturing was “the next logical thing” for the technology company, but continued to poke the idea stating:

“Did you ever take a look at the Apple Watch? No, seriously: It’s good that Apple is moving and investing in this direction. But cars are very complex compared to phones or smartwatches.”

He reportedly laughed after asking the rhetorical question about the watch. So, it seems that Apple continues its electric-car development and plans, annoying the hell out of Elon Musk in the process. Why else would the company recruit former Tesla engineers?
