In a tidy, four-month job that's worth between $16.98 million and $23.23 million, Vigor Industrial will perform a regular overhaul for the USS Emory S. Land, a submarine tender based at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

The work will involve inspections and maintenance of boilers, the propulsion shaft, the turbo generator and other services. The work will be performed in Portland and is scheduled to be completed by February.

The 37-year-old USS Emory S. Land provides repair services to submarines.

The base value of the contract is listed as $16,984,940, but it includes options that, if exercised by the Navy, would bring the contract's value to $23,234,057.
