Successive Slidings of Pleasure

Successive Slidings of Pleasure ★★

"What a strange lawyer, the devils advocate perhaps!"
- The Priest (Jean Martin)

The divine yoke: Alain Robbe-Grillet's artistically made perverse examination of sin. A woman stands accused of the savage murder of her roomate and friend Nora. She's contained in a religious prison cell until proven guilty.

I'll be honest I didn't have a fucking clue what Alain Robbe-Grillet meant with this, and nor did I care enough to search 'egg symbolism' on the net to find out. I suspect his intention was to expose the fact we are pre-sentenced with sin before ever committing it (as in there wasn't actually a murder until police lieutenant walked into the room and then pointed his finger). Least its filled with lots of sleaze, even if its extremely mild compared to the real nunsploitation and s&m exploitationers.

[Personal Reasons For Remembering]
Anicée Alvina having fun with paint, Claude Marcault & Nathalie Zeiger made attractive nuns. The only two scenes that really gripped me was a very frank confessional scene (mild hint towards possession) and the student field trip scene a girl was thrown from the cliff (that strangely seemed from an entirely different movie).
