Roger Federer hits the red carpet with his wife, Mirka, at the 2023 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 1) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The longtime couple, who have two sets of twins and have been married since 2009, walked the carpet together ahead of the big event.

Roger is one of the official co-chairs of the event along with Michaela Coel, Penelope Cruz, and Dua Lipa.

The theme of the Met Gala this year is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” and the event will honor the late fashion designer. The dress code for the gala is “in honor of Karl,” who has worked at such fashion houses as Balmain, Chloé, Fendi, and Chanel.

Just last year, Roger retired from his longtime tennis career.

FYI: Roger wore a Dior tux, a Rolex watch and Oliver Peoples sunglasses. Mirka wore a Valentino dress.

The 41-year-old tennis star announced he was retiring from the sport just last week, and that the competition game, between Team Europe and Team World would be his last.

Teammate Rafael Nadal, and a few others on the team, were even seen crying over it being Roger‘s last match.

Following the doubles match, Roger also got support from his wife, Mirka, and their children, Myla, Charlene, Leo and Lenny Federer.

Speaking with press after the game, Roger said it had been “a wonderful day. I told the guys I’m happy, I’m not sad. It feels great to be here, and I enjoyed tying my shoes one more time, and everything was the last time.”

“Funny enough, with all the matches, and having the guys, and being here with fans, family and friends – I didn’t feel the stress so much, even though I did think something was going to go. Pop a calf, or lock my back or something. I’m so happy to make it through, the match was great, I couldn’t be happier. It’s been wonderful,” he added.

Roger then spoke about his legacy in tennis: “I was just happy to play tennis, and spend time with my friends really, and it ends here. It has been a perfect journey and I would do it all over again.”

“It’s been great. It’s been so much fun. It’s been amazing.”

Roger Federer‘s four kids are so cute!

The 37-year-old tennis great is the father of two sets of twins: daughters Myla Rose, 9, and Charlene Riva, 9, as well as twin boys Lenny, 5, and Leo, 5.

Over the years, Roger‘s wife Mirka has taken all four kids to his matches including the French Open, Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and more. His kids have watched their dad from the stands often.

We could be watching Roger Federer play in the finals of 2019 Wimbledon this coming Sunday (July 14) against Novak Djokovic.

Roger Federer is all smiles as he poses alongside his wife Mirka while attending the 2017 Wimbledon Champions Dinners held at the Guildhall on Sunday (July 16) in London, England.

The 35-year-old athlete, who just won his 8th championship, was joined at the event by fellow Wimbledon winner Garbine Muguruza, Jamie Murray and his wife Alejandra Gutierrez, Heather Watson, and Tommy Haas with his wife Sara Foster.

“Yeah, my head’s ringing,” Roger admitted after celebrating his big win until 5am (via The Guardian). “I don’t know what I did last night. I drank too many types of drinks, I guess. After the ball we went to – what would you call it? I guess it’s a bar – and there were almost 30 to 40 friends that were there. We had a great time. Got to bed at five, then woke up, and just didn’t feel good. The last hour or so I’m somewhat OK again. I’m happy with that.”

Roger also talked about the younger generation needing to step up their gaming skills if they are ever want to catch up to the 30-plus elite from the top of the pile: “Every generation definitely is different. Since my generation and Rafa’s generation, yes, the next one hasn’t been strong enough to push all of us out really. So that has been helpful for us to stick around,” Roger expressed. “They can choose not to play that way, if the coach has taught them to play differently. I know you can easily get sucked into that mode when you don’t want to attack, but if you can’t volley you are not going to go to the net. I’m going ‘okay, I know he’s not going to serve and volley,’ which is great. Then we are talking about grass, and it was playing fast this week and I feel like I wish that we would see more coaches, more players taking chances up at net because good things do happen there, and you want to be there and have to spend some time up there to feel confident and good there.”

Roger Federer‘s family watched proudly as he won his 8th championship at 2017 Wimbledon.

The 35-year-old tennis pro beat Marin Cilic of Croatia on day thirteen at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Sunday (July 16) in London, England.

One of the more random guests at Pippa Middleton‘s wedding on Saturday (May 20) was definitely tennis player Roger Federer!

The 35-year-old athlete looked super sharp in his suit while holding hands with wife Mirka at the wedding held at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield, England.

It’s not clear how Roger and Pippa know each other, but they must be close friends for him to be at the small wedding!

Roger is currently prepping for Wimbledon and withdrew from next week’s French Open to focus his energy on winning his 19th Grand Slam title in July.

The New England Patriots players were likely at the event because their teammate Tom Brady served as a co-chair for the gala with wife Gisele Bundchen!
