The Desert Island Disco themed Bestival happening at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, from Thursday 4th until Sunday 7th September 2014 will be bringing the sound of irie vibes to the island with the addition of a new Reggae Roots stage

On Thursday the line-up includes Toddla T, Dub Phizix, Prince Fatty, Ashley Beedle presenting Yardism. On Friday the line-up includes Congo Natty: Rebel MC & Tenor Fly & Congo Dubs, SL2, Trojan Sound System, Uzimon, and Ghost Writerz.

Plus Bestival regulars Reggae Roast, Tayo, and jim8track as weekend residents and daily Reggaerobics sessions.

Rob da Bank said, "It’s no secret that many of us at Bestival HQ are well into dub, reggae, roots and bass music. Having hosted many of the legends of the genre from Lee Scratch Perry to Gregory Isaacs and the Twinkle Brothers it seemed about time we had a stage just for the skankers and the low-end lovers. The soundsystem is gonna be off the scale, the stage is gonna look like a backyard Jamaican dance and you guys are going to make it all happen… in the sunshine… in love with the bass!”

Thursday headliner is Beck, Friday it's Outkast , Saturday is topped by Foals, and Sunday's headliner is Chic featuring Nile Rodgers. Also confirmed are Busta Rhymes, Disclosure, Major Lazer, London Grammar, Sam Smith, Wild Beasts, Clean Bandit, Caribou, Chvrches, Laura Mvula, Paloma Faith, Basement Jaxx, Candi Staton, Sven Vath, Damian Lazarus, Boys Noize, Annie Mac, Green Velvet, Chase & Status (DJ Set), Andy C, Wilkinson, 1-800 Dinosaur (James Blake, Dan Foat, Airhead, Mr Assister), Route94, Bicep, Richy Ahmed, Krystal Klear, Monki, Loadstar (2 Shy, Adapt, MC Jakes), Jaguar Skills, Gorgon City, Rob Da Bank, and more.
